Annual Sydney Student Sports Summit: “Game Changes” Innovation for Today and Tomorrow

The second annual Sydney Student Sports Summit took place in April this year with the theme “Game Changes” Innovation for Today and Tomorrow.
The co-sponsored event between ICMS and UTS was held at the historic Sydney Cricket ground on Thursday April 19th 2018.
The summit focused on how students can break into the sports industry but also explored current and future trends within the industry, both on a domestic and global scale. More than 50 ICMS students & staff took part in the networking function involving 20 sports industry professionals from the NRL. AFL, Super-Rugby, Cricket & the Football Federation of Australia (FFA).
“Our speakers have displayed a lot of creativity and innovation in the sport industry and were certainly keen to assist our students build the relationships necessary to achieve their personal aspirations” said Summit Director, Ian Evans.
Keynote speaker Ross Xenos (CEO of the Rugby Union Players Association) spoke to the students about the wonderful opportunities sport brings as a vehicle to drive values and positive messages to the community.
Other speakers included Olympians Sarah Cook & Ed Jenkins, Nick Ryan from the Melbourne Rebels & Jody Masina from the GWS Giants.
Our next summit will be held in April 2019.
